Pelican Island NWR QR Code Signs – The Pelican Island Audubon Society developed and installed a series of interpretive signs at the Pelican Island NWR with QR codes. The codes can be scanned by smart phones to link to brief videos with information about various features at the refuge. There is more information about the signs in the PIAS April 2014 newsletter, and you may watch the sign videos at the link above.
America’s Great Outdoors – Americans’ best memories often come from time spent outdoors with family and friends on hiking trails, in neighborhood parks, at historic sites, at the beach and along the coast, or on the banks of a favorite stream. The outdoors is where we connect with one another, explore our past, and discover our heritage. It is part of our national identity.
